How house cleaning pricing works

Square footage is a start, not a price

A 2,000 square foot home with two people for 2.75 hours is 5.5 labor hours. That is a more honest unit than “2,000 sq ft = $X,” because stairs, pets, clutter and bathrooms change the work.

ProfitPriced estimates crew time from the property, clean type and condition, then lets you edit hours. You still know the house better than a form.

Frequency changes the visit

Weekly homes stay in a rhythm. A one-time or first clean usually takes longer. Deep cleans and move-out jobs are different products, not a standard clean with a nicer name.

The quote is per visit. Recurring frequency should show up as time (and therefore cost), not as a hidden discount you cannot explain.

Margin vs. markup

Paying cleaners, buying supplies, driving, and covering insurance are costs. Profit is what remains after those are covered. If you want a 30% margin on a $100 cost job, you need about $143, not $130.

Add-ons should mean minutes

Ovens, refrigerators, interior windows, cabinets, laundry and dishes are extra labor and usually extra supplies. Price them that way so a $40 oven add-on is grounded in time instead of a number you copied from a Facebook group.

FAQ

Does frequency change the price?

Yes. One-time, weekly, biweekly and monthly visits are estimated with different times, so the per-visit price moves with the work.

Can I change the crew size?

Yes. The estimate is crew × hours. Two cleaners for 2.75 hours is not the same cost as one cleaner for 5.5 hours in overhead and travel, even if person-hours match.

Is the calculator free?

The calculation is free and does not require an account. Unlocking for $10 saves your defaults and creates a customer quote.
